I'm a Millennial Librarian.
I'm Laureen, an academic librarian of the 21st Century. I currently work as the Head of Access Services & Outreach at Colorado Mesa Univcersity. Previously, I was CMU's Reference & Distance Services Librarian, a tenure-track Instructional Services Librarian (Assistant Professor) at the University Libraries of the University of Memphis, a term Research & Instruction Librarian at Grinnell College, and a Reference & Instruction Intern at the Van Pelt - Dietrich Library at UPenn. I have an MLIS from Drexel University's iSchool (2011), and a BA in English and Creative Writing from Vassar College (2006). I'm currently working on a PhD in Information Science through SUNY University at Buffalo (anticipated Spring 2023).
PS: Starting January 2013, I began working towards a Master of Public Health at the University of Memphis - through the School of Public Health as part of my tenure track appointment. I was using my education benefit as an employee to tackle the degree, going 1 class at a time, but moved on to a different position at a different school and haven't completed the MPH program as a result of out-of-state fees, time, and questionable necessity.
This website is to serve as a home for my professional interests, initiatives, and accomplishments.
